A Visit from A Geogolgist

James Milner-Smith (Emily and Daniel's dad) visited P4/5 on Friday to help us with our Rocks topic. He talked to the class about Volcanoes and we watched some video clips on these. He also spoke to the class about the usefulness of rocks and how the affect us every day. The pupils learned that rocks are used to build houses, roads and bridges but we also learned that rocks are also used to operate computers and digital watches.

The pupils had a great time and asked Mr Milner-Smith loads of difficult questions. They were especially pleased to see his geology hammer and compass.
